Here I Am Again

music & lyrics © 2005-2006 grace, grant & woodford

I made a vow last night not to dwell on you at least till half past ten.
Alarm goes off and I reach over to your side of the bed,
Go down stairs and make some tea, and drink from your favourite cup
Its an ordinary morning but my days are looking up I guess

I’m back on my own
Like I’ve been a million times before
And wouldn’t you know …
Here I am again!

Half past ten well it came and went now I’m walkin’ down the road,
This week’s pay cheque’s mine to spend, mine and mine alone
Now the sky is bluer and the grass is greener
Flowers smell sweeter and I don’t need ya
Birds are singing "Hallelu", think I’ll have an ale or two

Its not so much that I’m losing you but gaining me instead
Got my jeans on the floor where they oughta be and the cat’s not in the bed
I’ve thrown out all that chardonnay now there’s room in the fridge for beer
I’m glad of my good fortune, you made it very clear that you

Think that I need to, find myself,
You deserve my thanks
For your kind words
But there’s no rush
and In my good time
I will find myself …
somebody else
